The Alabama Breastfeeding Coalition (ABC) is a non-profit organization established in 1992. We are an organization of healthcare professionals dedicated to the health and well-being of mothers, infants and children in Alabama. We take a strong position on behalf of breastfeeding in consideration of the extensive published evidence for improved outcomes in breastfed infants and their mothers.

Enthusiastic support and involvement in the promotion and practice of breastfeeding is essential to the achievement of optimal infant and child health, growth, development and emotional well-being.
